I had my baby almost a month ago and Im still in my maternity jeans. I gained about 35 lbs and I still have about 8 lbs to go but when I try on my old jeans I cant pull them up past my thighs! Its like my hips have spread apart a whole foot or something and dont even get me started on the whole belly flap issue, lol...Were you still in maternity jeans after a month? How long will I be in these things?

  1. Oh yeah - I still can't fit into my old jeans because of my extra belly pouch - my baby is 21 weeks old and I still have 10 pounds to go.  As far as the hips go, I thought the same as you, that my hips had spread but after about 2-3 months pp I was able to get the jeans up over my behind - I just still can't button them.  Don't fret - you are only a month pp - it took 10 months to put on and may take that long to take off.

  2. One month!! Girlfriend... I am going on 4 and haven't returned to my old jeans yet. I'm not sure if I ever will. I have lost all but 5 lbs.. but I think it's all in my hips!

  3. Even if you lose all the weight you body shape has changed. I joined a gym to lose the rest of my weight. Good luck!

  4. THANK GOD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!  I had a melt down the other day because I couldn't fit into my old jeans, and still have to wear my maternity clothes.  My baby will be a month on the 3rd of September.  So I'm right there with you, and I REFUSE to buy bigger clothes.  But you are ahead of me, I still have about 25 pounds to lose.

  5. My baby is 4 1/2 months old and I still wear my maternity jeans.  They are very comfortable and my body is not shaped the same as before my pregnancy.

  6. Sweetheart, I had my son 3 months ago and I am still wearing my maternity jeans.  Granted, they are the ones I wore when I was 4-5 months along, but they're still maternity jeans.  It takes a while to lose baby weight.  Most doctors or midwives do not even advise to begin real exercise until your 6 week post-partum checkup, which is still 2 weeks away for you.  After your 6 week check, you can gradually begin an exercise regimen if your doctor or midwife says it's okay.  Do not feel bad.  You have bigger priorities right now than getting back into shape right away.  I often feel bad about the fact that I can't fit into any of my old clothes yet, but I am exercising more and trying to eat better like I used to and I know I'll get there eventually.  Fortunately, I do not have far to go, either.

  7. AWWWWW!! Don't get too discouraged. It is gonna take awhile. Yes I know what you mean about the spread thing. It was the same for me. Even though I was thin I had gained inches in my waist and my hips so I was unable to get back into my old jeans until 6-8 months later. Hang in there. Don't be hard on yourself. This is normal and takes time.

  8. I too was in Maternity pants a Month after I had my Daughter. But, here is what you can do to get out of maternity pants:

Go out and try on what size you think you are- Buy 2 pairs and try and keep loosing the weight until you loose enough to be back in your regular size pants. Although, sometimes womens hips spread and they keep loosing weight, they will never be back in the same size simply because there hips spread so much. So, my advice would be to go and buy some Regular Jeans and keep trying to loose the weight until you are satisfied!Good LUCK!

  9. I wore mine for a while. I hate to tell you think but you may not ever get back into your pre-baby jeans. Your body has changed and that is ok.

  10. Consider your self lucky  to be doing so well.  It takes time.  IT took you 40 weeks to put on that weight and will take you at least a few more months to a year to get back to normal if you do at all.

  11. Hmmmmmmmm...

I still wear my maternity jeans from time to time... Those things are sooo comfy, lol

My son is almost 10 months old.

So - one month?  Big deal.  LOL
