WARNING

Watch out, here they come,

These are our children dear

Not unguarded as some

Giving teachers reason to fear.

They come from a home

Where they're loved

With parents who won't

See them shoved.

Taught to independently think

Not led like a horse

Down to drink.

Or yet led to something worse

Mindless education's curse

Of following worthless leaders

Not questioning bottom feeders.

They're bright

And they have the right

Their parents know,

Supporting them in their fight,

What to expect

And will watch as they grow

To guarantee proper respect.

They'll dig and explore,

Question and read

Obstructions ignore

Others lead

In pathways new

By their own design

In patterns true

Their thinking refine.

Be warned!! They start classes this year

Mediocrity has reason to fear!

  2. Your second verse says it all!  Education begins in the home with parents and grandparents all involved from the very beginning.  When the root system is well developed you get get strong plants.

  3. I'm one of those people, it seems, purveying "mindless education" to our youth. Teaching is a calling, like say, the priesthood. We don't fear our students, but we often despair at the education they receive at home before and after our day with them.
