Question:

Still waiting for my stimulus payment! Who to call? Sorry--lots of details?

Okay--my SSN last 2 numbers mean my paper check should've been mailed on June 20. My tax liability was about 2000.00 and I had nothing else going on on my return except a minor education credit for a couple hundred bucks and a capital gains tax on about 250.00 of stock dividend.

I owed money and paid by check and filed my return on April 1st. I owe no back taxes, no child support, no default student loans etc.

When I call the stimulus hotline (per the website) and enter in my SSN, filing status and number of exemptions it just says "I'm sorry, we can give you no information on your stimulus payment. if you qualify...your check will be mailed on June 20th.' And then it hangs up...not helpful. I also tried the number ending in 1040 and that forwarded me to the other number.

Pls help this poor starving nursing student! :)

  1. If you mailed your return in early April, it probably wasn't processed in time for you to make the cutoff for the first round of payments.  If that's what happened, you should get your check by the end of August.

I am assuming that you are not a dependent, you have a valid ss#, and you didn't file an amendment to your return.

    Good luck.

  2. depending on how much you made, my mother didnt get one because she didnt make at least $3,000

  3. try calling 1-800-829-0582, when asked for an extension put, in 726, you have to hold for about a half an hour but you will get a live person. You filed close to the deadline of April 15th, your will probably going out in second batch I filed on 3/27 but for some reason mine was not included in the first batch either, i was told mine was to be direct deposited within 2 weeks, don't worry you will get it, when I called they told me they still have over amillion to process, hope this helps. P.S. they phone lines open at eight so try to do it early it about your best shot in getting a live person

  4. did you visit IRS website and use the stimulus calculator to make sure you verify for the stimulus, have a copy of your return and plug in some figures,  and the end result will give you the amount you qualify for, of if you don't qualify, and if you do it will give the day to expect your rebate.

www.irs.gov  stimulus calculator, wheres my stimulus

  5. From what you have posted, you did not file your return in time to be in the first group of recipients.  That required you to have filed early enough for your return to be PROCESSED by the IRS by April 15th.  That works out to early March for a return filed by mail.

You should see your rebate shortly.  The IRS is sending out the 2nd batch now.  Depending upon how they prioritize them, you should see yours within the next 3 or 4 weeks.
