Stimulus Check Question..sick of these, right? =)?

Everyone else has gotten a letter saying when their check SHOULD arrive.. I haven't gotten one of those yet. =( I know I"m getting one.. I'm just paranoid because everyone else got a letter saying when they should get theirs and i Haven't yet.

I think what is happening is that there are two or three branches of the government dealing with the stimulus payments.  First you have the IRS department calculating the stimulus payments.  Then you have a different IRS department generating the letters.  But the checks do not come from the IRS - they are sent out by the same SSA department that issues social security checks - so the IRS has to transmit the information to SSA who then has to generate the checks...  SO you get three different departments - probably located in three different states sending letters or checks all over the country.  If you live near the letter generating department, you probably get your letter first, while if you live near the check generating department, you may get your check first.

Not everyone has received a letter - perhaps all your friends and relatives have low digits when you look at the last two digits of their social security numbers - so it just seems like it.

My understanding is that the IRS website will update with information about your rebate about the same time as the letter and check are generated.  This happens about a week before your check is processed.  If you have a high last two digits, then your check or letter probably will not be processed until July - so you do not need to worry yet.

Take a look at the IRS website and check their schedule against the last two digits of your social security number.  If you don't get a check within six weeks after that date, then you should contact the IRS.  Remember that they are generating millions of checks - and they will get to yours in due time.

Don't worry the same thing happened to me. My grandmother and sister both received a letter stating that they would receive a check the same day and I never got one. However, I received my stimulus check before any of them. So it will come.

this site tells you when you should expect it. I got it about 4days after I was supposed to but then I also know someone who got it before they were supposed to.

You will get the rebate when you get it.  Don't count on it until it is actually in your hand.  Be patient.

I have not received a second letter.  I am able to get a status on the irs website, but no letter yet stating when and how much.  Don't worry, it's on the way!!

If and when it gets here then it gets here.... if it doesn't then it doesn't.... bout covers it I think.
