My boyfriend and his parents were supposed to receive a stimulus rebate. They both received letters in the mail stating that they would be getting one. However, my boyfriend filed his taxes April 15th, and his parents a few days prior. How much longer should it take to receive them?

  1. Did they get a letter very recently, or are you referring to the one they got in March?  The one in March was generic and did NOT say they were eligible, it said "you MAY BE entitled to...."

If they got a letter recently, it would have the date and the amount - the date is the date it would be mailed by, so they'd actually get it a few days later.

If they didn't get that letter telling them when they'll be getting a check, but if they are eligible, their ss#'s might just not be due yet - the last checks in the first round aren't due out until mid July.  See http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180...

If your bf didn't file until 4/15, his return was most likily not processed that day, so he'd get his in late July or in August if he's eligible.  If his parents filed a few days before but by mail, then theirs wouldn't have been processed by 4/15 so they'd get theirs in July or August if they are eligible.
