Stimulus check for "non-resident alien"?

Question

My friend is in the US with a working visa. He is not a "green card holder" nor a US citizen. He has been in the US continuously for around 4 years, I believe.

Is he considered a "resident" or a "non-resident"? Will he qualify for a stimulus check? (He has been paying taxes since he got to the US)

If he worked and had to pay taxes I would think he gets a stimulus check.

He is not consider a resident until he gets a resident card. And no he will not get a check because he doesnt have a ssn # Sorry.

If he has a SSN (not an ITN), is not claimed on anyone else's tax return as a dependant, and has at least $3,000 in qualifying income, he should qualify for a stimulus refund.

Any one with work visa can be eligible to file resident tax return after meeting Substantial Presence Test. Read http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/04/subs...

If you file resident tax return, you will get stimulus rebate.
