I worked and made about 9k last year..Shouldn't I get 600?I go online and it says 600, but letter sent to me says 300?Does anyone know why the difference?

  1. No, with an income of $9000 you would have paid little or no income tax, so would be eligible for the minimum payment of $300.  You only get more than $300 if your tax liability was more than $300, and on $9K yours wouldn't have been.


  2. Do you have any federal debt or money that is owed to any agency that may have intercepted your stimulus check?  I work for an agency and I know that if someone is behind then their stimulus check is going to be intercepted as well.  If that's not the case in your situation I'm not sure why they would change the amount.

  3. If you are under 18 or someone is claiming you on their taxes  - that may be a reason for the lower amount.

  4. if you paid in 300 or less in taxes you would get 300 stimulus, if you paid 600 or more in taxes you would get 600, anywhere between 300-600 you get that exact amount. More than likely you had 300 or less in tax liablilty then.
