Question:

Stinky Butts???

Does anybody have any creative suggestions on what to do with cigarette butts when I'm driving? Unfortunately, I am one of those careless people who throws them out the window, but I really want to stop doing that. Keeping an ash tray in the car smells too bad, so that's out. I know the obvious solution would be to stop smoking, but that's not happening right now, so spare me.

  1. stop smoking that will do the trick

  2. Stop smoking while driving! Like cell phones, they take your mind off driving which can increase your chances of being in an accident and harming someone else.

Every time I see a person with a cell phone who is smoking and drinking coffee while they are driving, I just want to put as much distance between them and myself as possible.

You don't have to stop smoking - even though you imply that you know you should - but you can cut back by not doing it as you drive. It lowers the value of your car when you trade it in. Also, if you think it smells bad as a smoker, think what it smells like to non-smokers. The smoke permeates your clothes, too, which is why some folks will stand a bit off from you in case you haven't noticed.

And finally, if you did reduce your smoking, you may be able to afford the gas needed for the car a bit more.

  3. I would keep a bottle of water in the car, half empty to put them in, so that you can close the top when you are done. I too throw them out the window but I know I should stop that. There may also be vaporizers you can use in your car. Good Luck

  4. You could "Roll your own," with a pouch of tobacco and some rolling papers.  That way, you could smoke each cigarette down to nothing.  You might want to put the last little bit in the ashtray to burn down to nothing so you don't burn your fingers.

Just think about how cool you would look to your friends, rolling your own smokes!  Make sure to light them with a Zippo to complete the effect.  Don't worry about your health; studies have shown that the filtered cigarettes will kill you just as fast as the unfiltered ones.

  5. dump it more often then it wont smell so bad

  6. Since you won't put an ashtray in your car, what kind of answer are you looking for?  Putting a can with water in it and putting your butt in in is an obvious answer that you yourself could have thought of.  But as far as keeping the smell down with that idea - I'm not sure; you'll have to try it.  You can cut down on smoking in your car if you really wanted to.  When I smoked, I always made it a rule no smoking in my car because it just stinks it up.   One time, someone tossed a cigarette out their window and landed through my hubby's sunroof and into his car.  When he got out to confront the guy that he almost burned him, the guy got so defensive.  Hello? He did something wrong, not my husband.  Another time, my husband flicked his cigarette out the window and it landed on the windshield of a car behind him which happened to be a police officer, who then pulled him over!  I can't remember if he gave him a ticket or not.  But these are good reasons to not flick your cigarette out the window; you don't know who you will p**s off.

  7. Do as you wish, but remember there are other roadusers out there, of the 2 wheeled variety, who don't appreciate breathing  the smell of cigarette smoke from passing cars (as if car exhaust isn't stinky enough!)

Just find a way of stubbing the butts out in the car, maybe have some air feshening stuff in the car to counter-act the odour and change the ash-tray device regulary.

Not that I'm judging you or anything , since cigarette smokes are stil legal to buy - so it's up to you.
