Stipid hospital?

ok so my dad crash his car on the way home(nothing serios) but he did go to the ER to get an X-ray just to make sure. Then when they gave him the bill it was somthing like 3,000 dollars. He doesn't want to pay it bbut sais he hast to. i think that he should conflict with the hospital and get the bjill lowered to more like 300 dollars.

Who is stupid? Try using the spell check feature. Next time use an urgent care clinic or your family doctor if you don't have the funds to pay for the ER. You use the resources you pay for it. He is responsible for the bill.

Does he have insurance?  Xrays can be expensive.  And lumped with emergency room fees, you'd be surprised how fast it adds up to $3000.  I'm not saying it's ok for the medical industry to charge fees like this, but the fact is they do.  I'm sure he can work out a payment plan with them.  I don't think you'll get it lowered to $300.  I've paid $300 for a urinalysis alone!

People tend to blame insurance companies for blind profiteering.  A little evidence that doctors and hospitals have something to do with the costs of health insurance.  I am not saying that health insurance companies are not making profits but they are not the problem.  I seen a bill where a heart surgeon charged 38,000.00 for a procedure that took him 2 hours to complete.  I don't care how many years he has in school he is not worth 20,000.00 per hour.
