Stipulate downs a magnificent victory for Cecil and Abdullah in the Blue Square Feilden Stakes at Newmarket
Stipulate was a source of entertainment and pride for his connections, as he bagged a magnificent victory in the Blue Square Feilden Stakes (Listed Race) at Newmarket on 18th April, 2012, where he safely tucked a cheque of £18,714.30
under his belt.
Trained by Sir Henry Cecil, for owner Khalid Abdullah, the runner bolted through the track, as he finished by a considerable margin of 4 ½ lengths ahead of, Mister Music.
The son of Dansili, out of Indication, did not have the best chance of winning after he was sent as the 8 to 1 shot, but he proved the prediction of the punters wrong with his victory.
Sir Henry Cecil reflected on Stipulate’s performance and told the press that: “He’s been working nicely,” the trainer further added that “He was a bit fresh early and hopefully he will come on for that. He’s done well physically and we’ll have to see
how we pick our races. He’s got speed but will get one and a quarter miles all right. He could be the sort for the Dee Stakes.”
The Richard Hannon trained Mister Music raced with all his might, but still fell short of victory.
The son of Singspiel, out of mare Sierra, who was mounted by jockey, Jimmy Fortune, also had a narrow chance to take the race, but he still delivered a commendable race.
The third place was secured by the three-year-old chestnut colt, Producer, who was paired with jockey, Ryan Moore.
Under the guidance of Moore, the son of Dutch Art, out of River Saint, raced with determination and landed a respectable finish, as he fell 1 length behind Mister Music.
Perennial, who was declared the race favourite with odds of 5 to 4, did not live up to the performance that was expected of him, as the Charles Hills trained three-year-old colt finished in a disappointing sixth place.
Stipulate’s victory was a boost of confidence for Cecil and Khalid Abdullah, as Frankel has been declared fit to train.
False rumours of Frankel’s retirement spread like wildfire, but much to the satisfaction of his connections and fans, he is good to go.
