I am writing a short profile about Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Can anyone tell me where I can find for Wal-Mart

1) Classes of stock outstanding

2) Market price of the stock outstanding

3) High and low price of the stock for the past year

4) Dividends paid for each share of stock during the past year.

What does outstanding mean anyways?

For Q2,3,4 enter the symbol for Wal-Mart [WMT] in yahoo Finance asking for a quote and you will be on a summary page

Day High and Low

Year High and Low

The Charts will show the dividends amount and dates

Click on all links and read to learn.  You will have more Qs.

Outstanding is shares on the market vs. Authorized for  sale or award.

Q1 you could contact a Broker or the Company there is a summary somewhere and maybe a search engine will pick it up.

The answer is quite simple for your question.

Just go to SEC (US Securites & Exchange commission) website    http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/com...  & first type the name of the co., or the ticker. And then in the type of the form enter 10-K,  now you can access to the whole annual report along with the notes.

The other option is, just go to yahoo or google finance. http://finance.google.com/finance

and type name the of the co., or ticker.

Outstanding Shares:

    Outstanding Shares are the number of shares that are currently owned by investors. This includes restricted shares (shares owned by the company's officers and insiders) and shares held by the public. Unissued shares or treasury shares are not included in this figure.

A corporation's market capitalization is figured by multiplying its outstanding shares by the market price of one share. The number of outstanding shares is often used to derive much of the financial information that's provided on a per-share basis, such as earnings per share or sales per share.

However, some analysts prefer to use floating shares rather than outstanding shares in calculating market cap and various ratios.
