Ok this is kind of complicated. I am 18, and I have the rights to my own stock. However, my father is refusing to give me the information to my broker, so is my mom. They are making it so I have no say in my money what so ever. I am getting sick of it. It's my money, 100%, I want access to know what's going on with it. Who would I contact to try to get this information on my stock and my broker. I don't know the company, they hid papers, just my name, and the name of who left it to me.

  1. have you considered spending a couple hundred dollars on a private investigator, and having him dig into all of this?

  2. If the only information you have is your name, SSN, and the name of who gave you the stock. You are going to have a very hard time finding the information you are looking for. Start calling brokers and asking if they have an account in your name. Even if they do, it is likely a custodial account. Even if you are 18 and "legally" allowed to own stock, you cannot remove the custodian from the account without the custodian's signature and a signature seal from a financial institution.
