myth...business cycles have ended...result...stock market crash

myth...housing prices never go down...result...housing crash

myth...we are running out of oil and food...result...coming commodity crash (and many poor people not eating correctly)

myth...global warming is going to kill us all...result...misallocation of billions of dollars to something we cannot control because it is natural.

Why do people continue to believe in myths? It is very sad.

History is circular, nature is circular. I believe there was recently an eruption that put out as much if not more greenhouse gas in like a week that the entire human race has in the last 200 years.

I will have to find the link. I may return with it as I don't know where it was or when it was in the news.

I don't think its so much that we are stupid as it is there's a group of people that are selfish, greedy and stupid and they've gone to the point of putting politicians in their pockets. After all, how do you explain the government urging more use of Ethanol, reserving about 1/3 of our output towards its production then revising it because of unexpected consequences of increased food prices. The science was out there. We knew it burnt up small engines , we knew it was 30% less powerful then gas. We knew that according to supply and demand if you take "food" and make a fuel out of it, there's less on the supply side to eat.

This isn't brain surgery, its that group of Elitist, selfish, liberals that continually find a way to manipulate the system to suit their own agenda. And until we learn to slap these people down, they will always mess up our lives.

Remember they're whine to end the Vietnam war ? The result of which was to hurt USA credibility with its allies, enprisonment of over a million allies in concentration style camps and shabby treatment of our own troops as they came home. Not unlike what the  losers at Code Pink  are doing today to our troops.

Remember the War on Poverty ? no real change, and its cost us $6.5 trillion in tax money.

How about the pork projects, the ear marks, the kick back. Sherwin Williams was paid millions to develop a special paint, but after they did so, at the expence of the tax payer, they were given 2 million for their efforts. And the advantage to the tax payer is still unknown today.

This stuff happens all the time, which is why we probably need a 3rd party to go in and audit the government. its technically our money. The Government spends too much on junk alot of people probably wouldnt' agree on. They need to be more transparent when it comes to shelling out our money.

bid house prices way past value.

oil and gas are running out.

not today, but they are.

and the globe is warming, despite the fact that we're in the middle of a very strong la nina, when it should be cooling.

greed is taking whatever you can.

stealing money from your children.

that's what deficits do, steal money from the next generation.

and we refuse to elect anyone who will not promise a tax cut -- and steal more from our children.

consider the country, the roads, the railroads, the standard of living, that we've been given by those who preceded us.

what are we creating, to give to the next generation?

global warming.

energy shortage.

high prices.

huge debt.

GREED.

First, people are stupid by nature.  You and I are stupid by nature.  Except it and move on.

Second, the only way to prove/disprove any of these theories is for them to come to pass.  So argueing for or against them is pretty lame.  You can display all the evidence you want, people will still belive whatever they want cause remember, we are all freakin stupid.
