Stock market question?

Question

were would i go to find out what the price is to buy stock for a spacific company?

i know nothing about the stock market so any answer is good.

seach on google

type the name of the company followed by "stock quotes"

it'll give you the current stock price plus the price in the past however many years

well first you have to find out if the company is privately owned or franchised. It does matter because private companys will not sell there stock to just anybody. Then when you find that out if they are Franchised then you should do some reserch and make sure the company is doing well. But personally, I dont suggest buying stock in this economy unless you have that kind of money to burn. But im guessing you don't so if I were you I would wait a few more years when the economy gets better. :)

Go to finance.yahoo.com.  Type the name of the company in the search box.

yahoo.com and click the finance icon type in the ticker name where it says quote and it will show you everything you need to know

finance.yahoo.com is a good place.  If you are looking to open a trading account online they will also provide an area for you to look at the current rates via their site.   I currently use Zecco.com for my trading.
