I would like to apply at stockholm university for my undergraduate but it seems that the general admission requires "Tissus". Are international students not supposed to be free to study abroad like stockholm without knowing Swedish? There are courses taught in english so I dont see any problem. So can anyone with experience or knowledge on this particular university give me a hint? Thank you!

  1. I think it depends if the lectures are held in English or in Sweedish. If you deciden on a Department that only has classes in Sweedish it's only natural that they ask you to know the language

  2. If it says it requires a TISUS (Test i svenska för universitets- och högskolestudier) that seems pretty straight forward - they want you to have some proficiency in Swedish.

You should just try emailing the head of the department you're interested in.  Get the answer straight from the horses mouth.  ...then start learning Swedish!  It's a great language.
