Question:

Stocking my 26 gallon long freshwater aquarium?

I will be starting my 26 gallon planted aquarium soon, so I wanted to figure out what I'm going to stock it with. I already know the types I want, I just would like some opinions on the amounts.

I was thinking of:

7 Harlequin Rasboras

5-6 Corydoras Catfish

10 Cardinal Tetras

Would this work? Please switch it up if you know a better way. Also I kind of wanted a centerpiece fish, so I was thinking of something like a Pearl Gourami. Would there be room for 1 or 2?

Thanks

  1. Your stocking would work perfectly. As long as you have a filter and heater, but I'm sure you already do ;)

Pearl Gouramis grow up to 6", so you couldn't add any to the current stocking.

  2. get 6 harlequin rasboras

    6 corydoras catfish

    6 cardinal tetras

then u could get 1 pearl gourmi

u could also get a couple of dwarf african frogs as these do not grow that big and are safe with the fish mentioned

    hope this helps u out

  3. that would be great for a cichlid tank!

    you should get,

    1 green terror

    3 firemouth cichlids

    2 blue rams

or if you don't want cichlids you could have...

1 blood parrot fish + 3 angel + 1 plecostomus (get a bristle nose they only

    grow to about 6'')

    and you could also have..

    6 neon tetra + 6 cardinal tetra + 4 albino corydoras.
