Question:

Stocking new tropical community tank

I have a fully set up and cycled (4 months ph, nitrite, amonnia, nitrates, and hardness all ideal) 38 gallon tank that at the moment has 3 neon tetras, 3 red belly x-ray tetras, 2 zebra danios, and 1 cory. I'm ready to add some more fish any suggestions? I'm really wanting to put a nice, or some nice show fish to go with all of my small fish..that will not eat them of course...thanks for the help

  1. all of these fish are schoolers, so to avoid stress, here is a good idea:

    6 neons

    6 x rays

    6 danios

    4 cories

    4 otos (to clean algae)

    a few livebearers

    live plants

  2. Buy a BABY Male Betta and it will not be aggressive or harm your fish as it will have been introduced into there tank and it hangs around the top and most of them dont and bettas look great in commuinity tanks they are the first thing you see when you look in

  3. I would add more neons and red x-rays for one because they do best in schools of 6+. Also get 3-4 more corys because they also get very frantic with by themselves. After that it's really what you would like because those fish get along with alot of fish.
