I recently had a phone call from Basic Investors in america, he advised me to invest in smartheating.com I think... The nadaq symbols are SMTH.... Can someone tell me if this some sort of scam or something... I'm pretty confused....

Thanks

  1. Just ignore it...if the person who called knew what they were talking about they could invest their own money and get rich.

  2. View It Now    FinanceExtends (dot) com

  3. His recommendation must have made an impression on you to go thru this much trouble.

If you go to finance.yahoo.com (http://finance.yahoo.com/), there is a box on the upper left side with a button saying "get quotes" to its left.

I typed in SMTH on that box and came up with nothing. I may be wrong on the stock quote so i did a search on smartheating.com and came up with this (http://smartheating.com/). The domain name is up for sale.

I hope you did not send that cold caller any of your hard earned money. It sounds like, looks like, and smells very much like a scam.

  4. Never, never, never, never invest in anything some one calls you about.  NEVER.

This is not -- NOT -- the way small investors get good financial advice.

When you hear a (stock) broker on the other line think:  salesman.

That's all he is.  He wants you to buy whatever c**p he is selling because he makes a commission on it if you do.

  5. Sounds like it is either a scam or a cold call.  In either case, you should just ignore it.
