Stoke City defender wants consistency
Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross says that he wants the club to consistently achieve good results after their 2-0 win over Liverpool in the English Premier League on Saturday 13 November.
The home win over the Reds followed a 3-2 victory over Birmingham City at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday 9 November, but those results came on the back of five straight losses across all competitions.
With the league being very tight this season (just six points currently separate the teams in fifth and 18th place), the perfect six points from their last two games have helped Stoke rise from 17th to 10th place in the EPL table in the space of five days.
As a result, club captain Shawcross has called on his team-mates to start carving out positive results on a more consistent basis, beginning with the clash with West Browmich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday 20 November.
Shawcross told the BBC, "The win shows that we're doing well, but we need to make sure that our form is consistent. We don't want to have dips like we had a couple of weeks ago. The league is so close. It's a massive league with big teams, but if we carry on
as we are, then we'll be fine.
"We've been very solid and scored some good goals. We need to take this forward and put in a good performance against a tough team in West Brom, who have surprised a few people."
Following the match against West Brom, where Stoke could move into sixth place if they win and other results go their way, the Potters will then take on fourth-placed Manchester City at home on 27 November before travelling to take on Wigan Athletic on 4 December.
