English Premier League side Stoke City are reportedly keeping a close watch on former Manchester United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355, who is now a free agent.

The Stoke City manager revealed he had previously been interested in signing the former Newcastle United star, but had been unable to do so due to interest from bigger clubs. However, he had retained is interest and could very well sign Owen in the summer
transfer window.
Pulis revealed in an interview:
“We tried to find out what he was doing a couple of years ago but nothing came of it - and it was a couple of years ago. Everyone knows Michael's pedigree and the fact he has performed with such distinction at the highest level for club and country.”
Owen began his career with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in 1996, after graduating from their youth academy, he made a total of 216 appearances in the English Premier League and scored an impressive 118 goals for the Reds. He transferred to La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2004
and after an unsuccessful one year spell, he moved to English Premier League side Newcastle United.
In 2009, Sir Alex Ferguson expressed an interest in the former Liverpool striker and went on to sign him in 2009. After three years though, his contract was not renewed. He is now a free agent and is apparently considering his options.
Pulis revealed he had his sights set on Owen, along with many other top players who he wanted to bring to Britannia Stadium in the summer. The Stoke City boss refused to comment on the chances of signing Owen and urged everyone to be patient regarding the
club’s signings.
He admitted:
“We are monitoring him, but along with about 400 other players to be honest, so it's a case of waiting to see what happens.”
