The Barclays Premier League kicks off once again this weekend with number of teams kicking of 3pm GMT including Arsenal, Everton, Stoke and Fulham.
All eyes will be on Sunday’s Manchester derby, in a match that could decide which of the two local rivals, Manchester United or Manchester City, will go on to lift the Barclays Premier League trophy at the end of the season.
However, there is plenty of football on offer before that as the Saturday’s round of fixtures throw up a number of interesting match-ups.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 v Fulham – 3:00 pm Kick-off
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes’ men find themselves above Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League table and will hope to maintain that position until the end of the season. The Blues pulled off a dramatic comeback against Manchester United last weekend and will be boosted
by that particular performance.
Fulham on the other hand have the chance to go above both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and their weekend opponents, Everton, with a win and that is something that Martin Jol will be urging his side to go for at Goodison Park.
Predicting the result will be difficult especially seeing how both clubs have been on a similar run of form; Fulham have not lost any of their previous four matches in the league and have taken a total of 10 points out of a possible 18, recording three wins,
a draw and two losses in the process.
On the other hand, Everton have fared only slightly better with 11 points out of 18 and have lost only one match in their previous six outings and are currently on a five-match unbeaten run.
Stoke City v http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 – 3:00 pm Kick-off
Arsene Wenger’s men will make the daunting trip to Britannia Stadium where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis’s Stoke City eagerly await the London club’s arrival. Arsenal will be looking for another three points to cement their position in third place as Newcastle United are breathing
down their necks.
Arsenal are on a mixed run of form as they have only managed to earn 10 points from a possible 18 after losing against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Wigan Athletic. The Gunners have not won a given in their past two outings in the League and a trip to Stoke would
be the last thing that they would have wanted.
Stoke City, though, are facing problems of their own as they find themselves in the bottom half of the table. Although relatively safe from relegation, the side will want to end their campaign in the top ten positions in the League.
Tony Pulis’ side have won only one league match in their past six outings yet have drawn three as well. It seems that a draw does seem a likely result, yet that could change if Arsenal’s Van can break through Stoke City’s parked bus.
