John Carew unsure about future
John Carew, the 31-year-old Norwegian striker, revealed he was enjoying his time with Stoke City but admitted he was not certain about his future at the club.
The former Aston Villa forward will be out of contract at the end of the season and so far there have been no talks of extending his contract.
Some controversy surrounds Carew’s transfer to Stoke City from Aston Villa, while Stoke claim they signed the player on a permanent deal after his contract with Aston Villa was cancelled. According to Villa, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974 international was merely loaned to Stoke for the remainder of the season.
The player himself was not certain about his status and said he would wait until the end of the season to decide his future. In the meantime he revealed he was having a fantastic time with Stoke City and hoped to help them claim the FA Cup.
Carew said while speaking to reporters, “It feels very good to be playing in an FA Cup final; it is something you hear about growing up as a kid. I had a chance last year when I got to the semi-final with Villa and now I am in the final with Stoke so it is fantastic”.
The Norwegian striker insisted he was happy at Britannia Stadium but would wait until the end of the campaign to determine what he wanted to do. He continued, “I am really, really happy in Stoke, but all the talk about my future will have to wait until after the season. But I am really happy here”.
With the arrival of Sunderland striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358, at Villa Park during the January transfer Carew realized his first team opportunities at Aston Villa were limited and opted for a move to Stoke City. He rejected offers from various clubs to join Stoke, claiming he wanted a new challenge.
Despite picking up a back injury, Carew has been impressive for his new side. Since arriving in the January transfer window he has made a total of 9 appearances in all competitions and has managed to find the back of the net twice.
Liverpool to offload Joe Cole in the summer
