Jon Walters found the back of the net for the home side in the eighth minute but Blues striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 equalized with a header. Stoke boss Tony Pulis confirmed that the defender would miss the remainder of the season with the knee ligament injury.
Pulis said while speaking to reporters, “It's a rupture and I'm devastated for the kid. It's a big blow for the team because Danny had just come back into the side and was doing so well. Hopefully he will return to training by the back end of pre-season
but it's hard to be precise right now.”
Pulis was hopeful Higginbotham would return at the start of the next campaign, he continued, “We look after our own at this club, so once he gets over the shock of the injury, Danny knows he will be getting the best possible care and treatment.”
Stephen Hunt and Adlene Guedioura return for Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Stephen Hunt just made a return after being sidelined for over two months. The former Reading midfielder suffered a calf injury in late January in the FA Cup clash against Stoke City.
However, he seems to have made a recovery and featured for the Wolves reserves against Manchester City. His performance will help the Wolves boss Mick McCarthy determine whether he thinks Hunt is fit to make an appearance in the Premier League match with
Everton over the weekend.
Algerian international Adlene Guedioura is also close to returning to full fitness and has already made a few appearances for the reserves side. He was sidelined for six months with a broken leg but has now recovered and will be playing against Everton.
He performed brilliantly against Blackpool in a reserve game which convinced McCarthy he was ready to return to first team football. While the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 boss revealed he did not want to rush the player, he knew he was ready to make a comeback.
McCarthy said while speaking to reporters, “Adlene is doing remarkably well. He did really well in the reserves at Blackpool, has trained really well, and there is no need to rush him back. He will be okay for the Everton game.”
