Stoke City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis fully focused on winning the FA Cup for the team
Stoke City manager, Tony Pulis, refuses to get caught up in the talk of becoming the first ever Welsh manager to lift the FA Cup title. He claims that he is not looking at the trophy as yet another notch in his belt, rather, he sees the cup as a rare shot
at glory for the historic club.
Stoke and Manchester City are set to go up against each other in the upcoming FA cup final at Wembley Stadium. The Sky Blues are overwhelming favourites to lift the title, and few are giving Stoke a chance in the contest. Manchester City are reaching higher
heights with every passing season since the arrival of new owner, Sheikh Mansour, at the club, and when the lineups of both teams are compared side by side, Stoke can boast nowhere near the amount of talent available to the Sky Blues.
Manchester City will also have more momentum on their side, having recently ensured their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. However, Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has warned the doubters that his side will give it their all in a bid to win their
first ever FA Cup title.
Speaking ahead of the contest, the Welshman said, “The most important thing is focussing on the game and winning it. The rest of it then follows. That is massive for us. You hope the Gods are with you."
Should Pulis manage to pull off the biggest win in his managerial career against Manchester City, he will become the first ever Welsh manager to lift the FA Cup title. But he insists that personal records could not be further from his mind at the moment.
He believes that his main motivation for leading the team to victory is so that Stoke City can proudly display the FA Cup in their trophy cabinet.
He said, “I do not even think about things like that. The biggest thing now as you get closer to the game is preparing the players and making sure they their minds are on the final.”
Stoke City are currently in eighth place in the Barclays Premier League standings.
