Stolen Debit Card Number?

Question

My debit card number was used TWICE at a local pizza shop! I have reported it to the bank, and ordered a new card. Here's the question:

Where do I find information on a MERCHANT's responsibility to check ID, and ask to see the card when they are delivering pizza etc...?

If this pizza place wrote the address where they delivered the food, I'd have the jerk! If they asked to see the card...the fraud would not have happened! So irritating....

if the food was delivered, you can't use a credit card. it's probably someone that is going in and ordering take out or sitting there eating it. that's why they don't have the address. you should write your name down for the pizza place and tell them that if they see that name on a card and it isn't you, they should ask for the id (so they can write down the address and name) and notify the police immediately. If you didn't lose your card and someone just has the numbers on your card to use, it is probably a server or someone that works in the restaurant. You aren't supposed to pay with just giving the credit card number.

Your bank should repay you for these funds, and charge back the company who charged it.

that is a reasonable question and i understand your pain.  but the people who work at pizza shops are moron stoners.  if it is a corporate store maybe call headquarters and ask for that information.  and if it's private ask a manager who is not a r****d.  but you've probably already tried that.

it seems like you are really mad and you want to take out your anger on the debit card thieves on the pizza shop.  unless you are going to sue them for two pizzas worth of damages what's the big deal?  people rarely catch these thieves and even when you do it's hard to press charges.

the bank should give your money back to you and they should reverse the charges to the pizza place....
