A week ago my drivers license and social security card was stolen. I am unemployed and I need a job asap. Can I still get a job with just my birth certificate? or do I need everything else? I have the police report that shows that everything was stolen. I need money so bad and I can't find a job off the books, please someone help me.

  1. My son had this problem when he got out of prison.  A birth Cert. will not get you a replacement SS card, and you can't get a DL without some other type of identification.  It was a merry-go-round.  What you will have to do is show them at SS  a copy of a marriage or divorce paper, or some type of school record like a report card,  If your license has  not expired you can just get another one for 10.00.  Then you will need to take your DL to the SS office for a replacement card.

Some business' will just take the number and use it temporairly but not as often as they use to due to illegals.

  2. You can get a job with the numbers in most cases; but get to the DMV and get the replacements orderd ASAP.

  3. as long as you have the documentation to prove that your stuff was stolen and your making an effort to get back your SOC. card. your birth certificate and the documentation like the police report would work.

  4. Get replacements for these documents. No company can legally allow you to work without a copy on file of a picture ID and your SS card. This is Federal law.
