Stolen generation?

with Federal Government Authority , in 1962 white so called, do gooders, took aboriginal children away from black families, merely because they were black, some large families were split up, and given to white families as servants, and cheap labour, a number never saw their families again.

The recent apology made to the aboriginals was not near enough atonement for this outrage. =what do -you- think.=?.

  1. What else do suggest, going back in time and undoing it? Time to move on.

  2. the same the world over for generations ....

  3. i think this is ancient history.... we have other things to worry about now.

i was actually thinking the other day about how some people still think that 'reperations' should occur.. the whole however many acres and a mule.

I would be fine with that if it were devided in accordance with the number of slaves back then.... a  one per family prove your lineage thing.

  4. We can't keep looking back, we have to move on, the world was a different place then.

What more can be done, they have said sorry.

  5. I would not waste my time in thinking of the past. Things are much better now so why think something that is not productive to your thoughts!

  6. Well they certainly live it up now, as the Government gives them all new housing when they want it, new cars or trucks every year,  all children have their uniforms paid for, and they never pay a bill. They destroy the houses, dump cars all over, abuse their children, and never do a days work. all they do is get drunk on the cheap booze they get....badly done to...I would hardly think so....The Australians have to pay tax for all of this. What happened in the past is over and done with, and judging by their attitude  today, over anything I would not even think that they care, ...take a look at your own Country...to see how we are paying...

  7. It was a tragedy and if you were to walk through, especially,  the Adelaide town  centre, you would see the 'end- product ' repercussions of a historically miss treated people.

I am British but I have lived in Australia. I had thought these actions only occurred in the thirties not the sixties. Even so, yes these atrocities require an apology.

To be fair, the Australian people have, in many ways, tried to mend the past. Unfortunately,  it seems to be a hard slog.

The Aborigines are a people made in the image of God and should of been treated as such.

  8. i think dat instead of dwelling on the past we shud luk 2 the future and ensure dat racisim and things like dis dnt take place again! but i do c ur confusion an mayb anger i have dat many times thruout my daily life

  9. How could Australia possibly expect to atone for such outrageous treatment of the Aborigines. One of the best films to come out of Australia 'Rabbit Fence' shows the true story of three young Aborigine children seperated from their family making an epic journey across Australia to get back to their loved ones.I recommend it to everyone. The children who were portrayed in it are still alive as far as I know.

If any of them can take comfort of any kind from the apology then it needed saying and should be the starting point for greater reparation.

People who take the 'och it was years ago or the we didn't do it ' attitude need to stop being selfish and realise that if the world does not put wrongs to right and accept past indiscretions and acknowledge their wrong doing then it can't complain when the hurt passed down by those acts comes back to bite them.In order to build a better world to live in we all have to stand on an even field. If barriers were built years ago through wrong doing they need taking down by the ones responsible. We can all move forward together once the ***** been put behind us.
