I have lost all but like 5 lbs of my baby weight. But my stomach is awful! I suck it in most of the time and can make it appear falt but if I let my breath out and just relax those muscles I look a few months pregnant! Plus, it gives me a weird heavy feeling and when I realx those muscles and I am standing I feel like I can't breathe as well. Is that really weird? I am eating pretty well and exercising. Its like my stomach is shaped this way now. Is there anything I can do?

  1. i have the same issue, my baby is 10 months and even though i am extremely thin and everyone who looks at me says i dont look like i just had a baby and theyve said that since two weeks postpartum, as i lost all my 30 lbs that i had gained throughout pregnancy in two weeks after i gave birth.  dont ask me how..it jst all went away. but anyhow..even though people dont notice it over clothes, i know i have that ugly pooch..and i honestly cant say it has gone down at all over the past months.  the skin is maybe a little bit tighter, but still have that pooch:(  i think it does have something to do with how I hold my baby though, like the others mentioned.

  2. I had the same problem after I had my son. My coworkers all who had kids swore by this advice: Wear a girdle. they said it helped their tummies go back to being flat. They say to wear a girdle every day or some type of control top under garment.

I also say try yoga and pilates. They work your core muscles well and help elongate and strengthen the muscles.

    Good luck!

  3. Your skin and muscles stretched a lot during pregnancy. Mine took a LONG time to have some semblance of normalcy. Even now, six years later, I have the beginnings of a six pack but embarrassing loose skin when I sit or bend over.

  4. All you can do is wait.  Eventually it should go away almost totally.  But be thankful and proud of it - for it is the road map that describes your baby's trip into this world.

  5. Dont worry it will go away in time.. i have the same thing going on with me my daughter will be 8 months next week and i still have some weight to drop and that belly flab to get off its hard but it just takes time.. good luck to you!!

  6. I have the same thing! I am also 7 months post part. I realized that I am sticking my stomach out when I am holding my son and so the muscles are developing outward. I am trying not to do it anymore, maybe you are doing that too.

  7. My tummy is flat but whenever I hold my son I notice the 'pooch' sticking out because I'm using my tummy muscle to help hold him up (he's 25 lbs! :)

I wear tight-fitting tank tops so you can see it when I hold my son, otherwise my tummy is flat ..

I think no matter how flat your tummy is there is going to be a small round indentation to where you uterus is. I've seen girls who are extremely under-weight and you can still see the outline of their uterus if they have had a child.
