Question:

Stomach Cramps while exercising? Help, Please! ?

I know all the ways you can get cramps like being new to exercising, eating before exercising or not eating before exercising, not breathing through the mouth or not drinking water or if I pulled stomach muscle. I've come to conclude none of these reasons listed above are my problem. When I exercise, whenever I press on the spot where it cramps up it immediately goes away until I release. Could I have something in my stomach that moves around and creates friction and that's why it hurts or is it something else? It doesn't hurt when I walk on the treadmill uphill but when I run or elliptical or skip or jumping jacks (or other things that make you go up and down) it starts to cramp. HELP :'(

  1. Do you stretch?

  2. I'm no expert, but I believe that everyone has their own limits in exercising.  People always tell me that if you "feel the burn, it's working."  I partially disagree with this opinion; exercise won't help you if you're working yourself to death, but it is normal to feel a bit of discomfort when you're making a change of any sort to yourself.  I would recommend that you exercise progressively; i.e. if you feel a little bit of pain, continue your exercises at a less strenuous pace, and if it worsens, take a short break.  Of course, if you're becoming really worried, you should definitely get a doctor's opinion.  As I say, I'm no expert compared to a trained doctor, but remember, only you can judge how much is too much.  Keep yourself in good shape, and you'll do fine.
