Well,I have a physiology project on the "stomach". I need to know the answers,to these questions.

How does the stomach create acid?

What is the pH of the stomach? also,while finding this answer....find other examples of "THINGS" with the same pH as stomach acid to compare.

  1. The stomach lining has parietal (oxyntic) cells that secretes hydrochloric acid into the stomach via the gastric pits.

    Stomach pH varies between 1 - 4; the higher pH being when food is present.

    pH of other substances:

    wine & beer-4

    apples-3.5

    vinegar-2.2

    lemon juice-2

    cola-2.5

    orange juice-3.5

    barrery acid (sulfuric acid)- 1

    By the way . You should have asked this question under "biology" or "zoology" . Botany = plants.
