Stonecrabstomorrow has Merbury Catering Consultants Apprentice Stakes (Handicap) set as an assured target
Not many entries of the Class 5 Merbury Catering Consultants Apprentice Stakes (Handicap) have been successful in their recent racing ventures. Ten three-year-old and above contestants will battle over five furlongs for claiming the £2,588 prize money at Goodwood.
Stonecrabstomorrow is one of the most commendable entries as he has shown remarkable performance through the last three outings of the season. Major chunk of his racing experience has been at Brighton, and he has tried his luck at Goodwood just once.
On 26th August, 2012, he ended fifth in the San Rossore Turf Club Stakes (Handicap) over seven furlongs. The race was won by, Scottish Glen, as he defeated Gifted Dancer by ¾ of a length.
The next outing saw him taking the third position in the second division of the Tilley & Barrett Demolition Handicap on 13th September, 2012 at Epsom race course over seven furlongs.
The jockey, Mark Coumbe, rode the mount to across the wire right behind the favourite runner-up, Great Shot, and the winner of the event, Majuro.
The very recent try of the nine-year-old bay gelding was in the Money Back On England T20, Betvictor.com Handicap on 17th September, 2012 at Brighton over seven furlongs.
The joint favourite came under the attention of the audience only when the final two furlongs were to be raced. Fasliyev’s bay gelding shifted to the left, tried making an effort, but missed the opportunity by the mark of 1 ½ lengths as Malekat Jamal won the race.
The preferred entry in the race today is the four-year-old bay filly, Berberana. Her recent third position is respected. She was the part of the line-up of the Support The Racehorse Sanctuary Handicap on 19th September, 2012 at Sandown over five furlongs.
The race was won by the favourite entry, Rocket Rob, who was paired up with jockey, William Buick, and defeated Macdillon by just half-length.
The 5 to 1 entry has drawn the eighth box, and will break from it in partnership with jockey, Raul Da Silva.
He will confront the 6 to 1 shot of the race, Stonecrabstomorrow, who has been allotted the second stall, and will ride with, Ashley Morgan.
