He did a great job. Niel Gtti hit it perfect. He was quicker then everybody all weekend and deserved that win.

JT screwed up big time. First corner crash. May be next year.

Ben Spies, 14th place. I predicted 8th ( which he was in the wet ! ) but he still got points in his first race. Great result.

Your thoughts please race fans ?

  1. Well.,he finished six seconds before Rossi - that's the peak of his great performance all weekend long. After he got a pole in Catalunia I started to have some expectations of him and he fulfilled them. It's really good for Ducati that Casey won after all the problems they've been having this season and Marco's replacement. Moreover now he's third in the Moto Gp ranking close to Vale and Dani which would only make the GP more interesting.

I'm really sorry for the problems Lorenzo has been having this season. He's got everything to win a World Title some day -the talent, the strong will and the bike.Once again he showed himself as a pattern of inspiration. He reminds me a lot of my idol, another strong-willed Spaniard competing in another sport - Rafael Nadal.......

  2. I have said it before, that Stoner is like a Rolex with his consistency. I was watching Ben's times and he was consistently hitting low 1:30s which i find impressive.

You have to feel sorry for JT. trying to make up for  bad qualifying.  I thought Dovi was going to do well too. Lorenzo did a good job.

    Can Hardly wait for Assen.

  3. Good job for Stoner. He finally got his game and started racing like he used to.

What I found as most entertaining, was the fight between Rossi and Pedrosa (who just did very well, having in mind his problems after the crash). I think Toseland felt the pressure. He was doing really good on tracks that he had never been on and was expected in the UK to be first. People had big expectations. JT couldn't handle it and... screwed up, as you said. I'm disappointed from him and Nicky, but I hope they'll both be better in the next races.

And did you see Lorenzo?! He was way back, with multiple fractures, in real pain, and finished 6th! This boy is going to be my new idol (well ok, not idol but you get the idea)

As for Spies, I think the rain would have brought him luck, but rain would have also brought luck to at least 10 more riders. It's strange. Everyone say they don't want rain and in the end because of the lack of rain they s***w up...

Great job also for Scott, this boy is amazing, but as I said before, he deserved his champagne!!! (that one really annoyed me, no idea why :))

and if you tell me again that Simoncelli wasn't guilty for the fact that Bautista finished 3rd, I don't know what I'm gonna do... This boy just brings trouble and nothing more! I like him, but he is messing with my Bautista! And that's just not gonna happen...

  4. Well yes - you gotta give it to him (gruuuuuur)

At this stage, better him to take points from Rossi than Pedrobot (lol - courtesy of DINGO)

Rossi & Pedrobot was exciting - I don't think I even breathed whilst that was going on !

Edwards & Dovi were excellent (so close yet so far from my 2nd & 3rd prediction).

As for Mr Toaster - you wouldn't wish that on your worst enemy !!

I didn't expect anything better from 'Hasbeen Hayden' with or without the new engine.

But in all honesty, I think the 'man of the race' award I would give to Lorenzonizass. He's shown us real class racing whilst STILL injured and (probably) in PAIN. I thought his comment regarding the price his leathers got from the auction, touching.

    An excellent day's racing - x*x -

  5. Hi wiggysan

Brilliant race by Casey. If Vale is the "Doctor" then for that race Stoner was the "Surgeon".

I think JT just succumbed to pressure from himself. For qualifying and the race he had the weight of expectation from all the fans on his shoulders. His time will come. (Scotts result made up for any disappointment from the UK fans)

I was wrong about Ben, he did break into the top 15.........14th! Actually Ben really impressed me. To be not the slowest out there with the amount of time he's had on the bike and track is quite an achievement. There's more to come from Mr Spies I think.

Jorge..........One of the rides of the year so far. If thats how he rides when he's taking it easy, getting his confidence back.....then watch out!

A couple of things disappointed me (apart from JT), one was Marco languishing at the back. As you know I was there, and it kind of brings it home to you when you see it in real life. You know, that bloke who always brings up the rear, getting further and further back each lap at a club or national event. It just doesn't seem right that it's someone of Melandri's pedigree.

The other was the reception that Casey Stoner got on the Podium. A few jeers and thumbs down from so-called British race fans. I don't mind saying that it made me a little ashamed. Casey didn't deserve that. He ran a perfect race, and all credit to him.

Apart from that it was a fantastic day out, and I'm glad I was there for the first British win in over 20 years.

Now to watch it all over again on TV..............now where's my beer?
