Stoney Calling aiming to outpace Slick Legend in A1 480m Flat at Wimbledon
Slick Legend is likely to be given the highest odds for a 480 metres Grade A1 heat, to be held at Wimbledon on Friday, April 06. Yet, it does not mean that J. Foster’s trainee has the best chance to win.
The bookmakers and punters cannot afford to ignore Stoney Calling, who is in fine rhythm at the moment. Therefore, it looks a tug of war between Slick Legend and Stoney Calling.
According to the plan, the meeting will start at 20:18 (GMT). A cash prize of £104 is reserved for the best performer. Among the participants are: Slick Legend, Stoney Calling, Memarosa, Bio Fuel, Hanover Lady and Foyle Billy.
Slick Legend has been unlucky over the last few weeks. In each of his last three races, the blue dog finished third on the chart. His last victory came at the start of March, when the son of Ballymac Maeve secured top position by ½ of a length.
Although he needs an extra effort to break the shackles tonight, one cannot rule him out of the equation. The dashing hound holds ability to perform well. Moreover, it is a good opportunity for him to justify his good odds.
Stoney Calling’s tradition of getting inconsistent is certainly a huge issue for the punters. After sealing a couple of classy victories in early March, the blue dog was in great position to register his hat-trick.
However, he could not make it, as he lost his rhythm and completed the order of finish on March 24. Despite an embarrassing defeat, the trainee of R. Rees did not lose his confidence.
He came up with an improved show in his next trace, securing top position by three quarters of a length. Out of others, Memarosa and Bio Fuel look dangerous.
Both hounds are in good momentum, but victories are not coming to their way regularly. Thus, it will be an extremely hard trip for them.
Slick Legend and Stoney Calling are the strongest contenders to enjoy the party tonight. If Stoney Calling manages to stay consistent, he will be able to make it comfortably. Bettor.com wishes best of luck to all runners.
