Question:

Stony Point, NY Road Test?

Hey, my driver's license road test is tomorrow! :]

I was wondering if anyone who's taken it could maybe describe what it was like, if they remember?

I get different stuff from people who've taken it in different places, some are harder than others, apparently.

Thanks!

P.S. was your examiner nice? o_o

  1. Hey, I live in NY, the stuff I remember was having to parallel park, I think I had a three point turn, he definitely had me change lanes to see if I signaled and looked in my mirrors.  They take you on the road so I think I had to merge as well.  He had me make a few turns, just be sure that when you do that you don't really touch the yellow line if possible.  And when you get in the car, remember to buckle up and set the rear view mirror.  And no, my examiner was not nice, but he wasn't mean either, just neutral.  And I did NOT have to drive in reverse for a distance, so don't worry about that.  and make sure when you change lanes that you look in your side view mirror AND turn your head to check your blind spot too, before switching lanes.  Good Luck and it's not that bad so don't worry.

  2. alright you have to parrellel park. make a 3 point turn. drive 100 feet in reverse. not miss any stope signs and use your signals and head checks. this was my case in MD and I got a nice person. but I think in NY they take you on the street

  3. The same standards apply at all testing stations within a state.  It's easy if you are well prepared, hard if you aren't.  That is why you get different answers from friends.

The examiner isn't there to be nice, he's there to evaluate your driving skill.

  4. As long as have read and "understand the handbook that was given to you" the test will be a piece of cake, also just relax and breathe you will do fine and you will pass the test.....
