  1. yu could turn him out first, or, try buying an hose mirror, i got mine from www.derbyhouse.co.uk  that shut my horse right up, or, just give him food when you turn the other one out

  2. I have crappy neighbors to, I don't know why they move in to the country if they don't like the country atmosphere. That said we are all missing the boat here as to WHY the horse neighs and that is because he missed his buddy and starts up with separation anxiety when he leaves. You can't stop the neighing as long as he still has anxiety so you need to work on relieving the anxiety by slowly "weaning" the two horses off of each other. They are herd animals by nature so its terrifying for them to be left alone. You didn't say where you took the horse when you left the other one but it takes months to teach the other horse its ok to be by himself the other horse does come back. You must go back to basics and take the other horse out but not leave the other horse, then pu t him away, then do it again, and again gradually building up the distance between th ehorses, the point is to not push it so far the other horse reacts. Eventually you will be able to get out of eye shot and he won't care.

  3. Hes just a verbal little guy. Tell them to get a life not literaly).

Hes just jealous hes not with you!

  4. If your horses are attached, there is not much you can do about their neighbing.  Your neighbors should move!  (just kidding)

  5. I don't know any way to stop that ( one of ours will do it if we take his girlfriend out)

You could try giving him toys or hay but it's never worked for us. We put him in the stable when we have to so he doesn't go running around in the field and possibly injuring himself.

  6. Well when you take out the one, just before you leave give a small handful of grain, hay, and a ball that he can play with the will every know and then dispense a treat:)  He's just talking like my one mare does, when I take the other out, but she stops after a few mins.  I wouldn't worry about your neighbors, they are just gonna have to deal with it.  What do they do when the birds are carrying on?  They don't sound like very nice neighbors, they should have know better when you move to horse country, it's kinda like the idiots that move by a dairy farm then get pissed about the smell!!!

  7. Thats pretty mean of your neighbors, are they not animal lovers? Horses love to be together girl, and probably with you also. Try taking him with a halter and lead rope with you for awhile then if someone is there with you, you can them hold him while you ride... he is just jealous of the time spent with one of them not him to.

    good luck

  8. as long as it is between 7 am and 8 pm they shouldn't complain.the problem is most of these people move to the country and complain about the noise and smell but if you call your local sheriff or land bureau they usually have a pamphlet called "living in the country" or something like that and it explains about living in the country and what they should expect to hear and smell while living in a rural farm and ranch community.

  9. I don't understand these people....live out in the country where livestock are allowed and they get upset that livestock make noise, smell, draw flies, etc?  What nerve.

    "Go back to the suburbs"

The most you can do is what Debi has stated, then tell your neighbors to get bent.

  10. I had the same issue! But I just ignored them and went on to what i was doing! Just like everyone said they are living in the country, what do they expect! I finally confronted them, well when they were yelling at me, and i told them straight out what was gonna happen every time, and they better get used to it! Cause theres nothing i could do about it!! And I offered them to want to go and make my horse shut up! But they got the point and didnt!!

After that there was no more complaints!! It was funny how it happened!!

    Good luck with your neighbors!!

  11. buy a mirror for his stable?
