Question:

Stop light cameras/ right turn on red.

so i live in texas.. and it was late at nite and i was taking a friend home.. and im not sure if i stopped completely before i turned right.. (rite turn on red) nobody was there... i was wondering if they can give me a ticket for... have they even passed that law in the state of texas that they can use cameras for tickets??

  1. if you do get a ticket fight it in court tell the judge you were making the right turn on red and you didnt see anybody coming so you went for it. if there is no signs saying you cant turn right on red then you are in the clear

  4. Yes, I have gotten one myself.  I hate Red Light Cameras.

    Contact your local PD and get the contact information for the Camera company.  Call them and see if they have a ticket for you.

  5. A legal right-on-red requires you to do four things:

    1. Give proper signal.

    2. Make a full and complete stop prior to entering the intersection.

        (And prior to crossing the stop line or the crosswalk if either one is present.)

    3. Check for "No-turn-on-red" signs.

    4. Yield to all other traffic on the road that you are about to enter.

    You can be issued a summons for failing to comply with any one of these requirements.
