Question:

Stop suggestions from coming up in Google search box?

I'm using Internet Explorer, and (only on the Google home page, not from the Google search box or any other search box) suggestions come up in a drop down window as I type.

I know I can ignore it, but it is extremely annoying.

I already have my Google and Internet Explorer settings set to not remember what I search and to not display it.

Can anybody help?

  1. http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bi...

  2. keep deleting your history. Takes forever but i guess its worth it, if its that annoying.

  3. go to ur tools icon click IE options then go to content then click auto complete and uncheck the box where it talks about saving websites that should do the trick

  4. Some people are confusing Google "search history" with "suggestions." You can stop the Google drop down box for the search history in IE Content Tab, but this does nothing to stop the drop down box for suggestions. I have found no way to stop this suggestion drop down box from appearing and have complained to Google and asked for a method to turn the damned thing off.

  5. Google has just added the suggestion feature. If that is what you mean.

If not, then whatever comes up you can just use the down arrow key and then press the little button that says "del" on your keyboard. It gets rid of them.
