  1. What do you want a tan for ? The whiter a woman's skin is the better she looks .

  2. Use product called P20 - tans without burning, and it does exactly that.

My husband, who's very fair skinned, swears by it.

  3. Cover up in the daytime. You can still get a tan during the late afternoon when the sun is not as strong.

Have a tanning session before you leave. The skin gains a little resistance to burning by producing extra melanin and copes better than 'virgin' skin.

Keep on with your high factor protection, but also use a good moisteuriser and after sun milk to help cool the skin down and allow it to recover in the evening.

  4. Stay out of the sun, wear a hat, wear light-fitting long sleeves, SPF 80 works for me every time.

    If you do get burned:

Use aloe, stay out of the sun, and don't put lotion on- it traps in heat!

  5. dont go out in the sun between 2pm-4pm because that is when the sun is the harshest. Try to stay under shade and re-apply your sunscreen. Use a lip balm with SPF in it and wear sun glasses. Apply your sunscreen half an hour before you go into the sun.

If you are trying to tan do it in small periods of time- don't bake yourself. Both of my parents have suffered from skin cancer so please be careful. Many people are not aware of how powerful the sun is.

    Goodluck

  6. Forget the tan .Keep your hat on keep your shoulders coverd. Its not worth spoiling your holiday. Why be ill?

  7. Well I think the answer is obvious STAY OUT OF THE SUN and sit in the shade.

You only need to go in the sun for swimming and then you can dry off lying on the sunbed under the umbrella.

When out walking wear a long sleeved caftan and large hat which will keep the sun off your skin, cover all exposed skin with some light trousers ie linen.

I do all these things and have never burned.

  8. do as the others have said but you can still get burned sitting in the shade, my husband even got badly burned through his T-Shirt.

If you do get burned showering it in cold water for ten minutes helps tremendously, you have to cool down the burning skin and remember all you are doing by sunbathing is 'roasting' your skin as if you've sat in an oven....but you may like roast beef ...LOL

  9. stay out of sun during peak hours, where a hat and a sun dress.. maybe one of those wrap things .. just try to be more covered.  Glad i do not have to worry here... Have fun in Spain!
