Stop the pop-ups?

Pop-ups have invaded my computer. They just started about 3 days ago and I can't get them to stop. With two kids in the house these are NOT appropriate sites to be popping up. I've tried to download new pop-up blockers but none have worked. Just when I thought I had solved the problem another pop-up appears. Please, if you have any tips or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I'm in need of some assistance...

Block pop-up ads and remove spyware .

first, the pop ups are still popping up, because they are on the 'allowed' list.  They generally register themselves as 'safe content'

No, this is not normal for a regular pop up.  This is indicative of an infection.  Possibly a cookie, most likely malware.

But I guess the real issue is you want this to stop, sooooo

download spybot search and distroy, run the scan, immunize your system (follow the prompts).  You can also get adaware  se (free) just on the off chance that spybot misses something (highly unlikely, but possible, rarely)

This will remove the evil gremlin that is trying to educate the kids a bit earlier than you like.  I suppose as  parent, you would LIKE the education to be after you have passed on and decomposed to a point that you can't crawl out and pitch a fit? *grin* (My niece didn't go for that plan either.. sighs)

Do a really good scan with a good antispyware like webroot spysweeper.

Also, get a good antivirus such as norton.
