  1. Singapore.

  2. Each airline has their own stopover location, usually the place associated with the carrier, ie. Singapore airlines stops at Singapore..

Some suggestions inc. the relevant airline are:

    Dubai - Emirates

    Singapore - Singapore airlines

    Hong Kong - Japan Airlines

Those airlines have a reasonable reputation while I know others that don't. Why don't you stop over in London, that will give you a huge range of options for your flight to Australia and make it cheaper also. Qantas do direct flights to Australia as do British airways from Heathrow.

Try looking up Zuji for flight cost comparison.

  3. You have so many choices depending in which direction you fly.

If you fly west then usually it's los Angele's and maybe a pacific island such as Fiji?

Or if you fly East then you have plenty more choice from:

    Dubai

    Cape Town,

    Malaysia,

    Thailand,

    Hong Kong,

    Japan,

    Singapore

It really depends which airline you are flying with. Qantas do most of those stops.

  4. Hawaii

  5. I did Fiji for a week, stayed in Pacific Harbor.

  6. we loved singapore - very very cheap!

  7. I've had stop overs in Ho Chi Minh city [Vietnam]. Hongkong , Bangkok and Singapore. My choice from these would be Hong kong for a second time around. Ho Chi Minh was though fabulous I was a little scared when I had to give up my passport at the airport because it was a short time stopover that no visa was required and I didn't know but that was the policy and I was taken to my hotel then I was free to do and go where I wanted and my pass port was given back to me when I returned to the airport . But i did love it and rode on the back of a motor cycle all around for very little money. Bangkok I got sick probably from the water which I tried to avoid but I was only sick for 24 hours but that was bad enough. Singapore was nice but not particularly exciting. Hongkong had many trips I would have liked to go on but didn't have time. I found it very interesting there and vibrant and hope to go back.

  8. Ireland to Aust you will most likely be flying via SEAsia.

Me personally i would have a look at airfare prices and decide from there - hypothetically if a flight from UK to OZ is 100pounds cheaper flying via Bangkok than Singapore then go to Bangkok.  That 100pounds you have saved on flights will get you a long way in Bangkok.

  9. Thailand
