Stopped working, Display reads all 8's

Question

My 2yr old microwave was working then just quit. Tried unplugging AC pwr cord and re-plugging and now the display reads all 8's and the only button that will work on the control pad is Handy Helper which goes from On to Off. Other thing is when you try to open the door the oven acts like it is turned on. The light lights inside the box and the fans start turning if you continue to hold the "open door" button in. I have technical background, does it sound like control pad problem?Thanks in advance
