Stops to see from Louisiana to Detroit Michigan on a road trip?

Soon me and my Grandpa are going on a road trip, starting from Louisiana going through: Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, And Detroit Michigan going up into Canada. I need to know some nice places to see along the way, like museums, or landmarks stuff like that. The trip is going to be long and my Grandpa left me with the work of finding places to see and i'd love some help. Thanks to anyone who helps me out. :)

I would change my route and go through Indianapolis, Indiana and go see the track for the Indy 500

In Detroit, you have the Ford museum.
