  1. Get some Rubermaid containers. You can stack them and even find ones to slide under beds. My children love the containers as do I because everything has a place and lids make the toys stay where they belong! Happy Storeing!!

  2. We were having storage difficulty too in our last house.  It drove me nuts!  I ended up selling the cot and no2 just stayed in a porta-cot and then went straight to a bed.  I ended up getting a bunk bed.  It took up a lot less space.

Get long but not high storage boxes that you can fit underneath the bed that's there.  You can pull one out, dump all the toys in it and neatly file it away again.  If you've got an ensemble in there get rid of it, it will drive you mad!

In the girl's cupboards I've got plastic trays and divide the clothes into them - 1 for shirts, 1 for pants & skirts, etc.  I tried a hanging organiser, but it was just too much fun for them to swing around and pull clothes out of.

I gave away the change table on freecycle and just kept a towel on the end of my bed for changing.  I was using cloth nappies so they all went straight to the washing machine.

If you've got clothes from No 1 that'll be passed to no 2, fold them neatly into larger ziplock bags and push all the air out before sealing.  It saves a lot of space and keeps them in the one place until you're ready to use them - you'll be amazed how much you can get into just 1 bag!

Just look at everything that 's in there and ask yourself if it's really necessary to keep.  Or is maybe one larger wardrobe better than 2 single ones?  Just remember the kids really won't be caring what's in there or not, but you'll have to walk in and out and be looking at it all day long.  Good luck

  3. Hi Jemma, I had 3 lads in one room I used tall boy wardrobes which are not as high as the usual one's so I could place boxes on the top which were reachable. I bought beds that would fit storage boxes underneath, I think there were about 5 under each which I labelled for the lads. I also stored large items snooket table(fold away) in my room or the shed in summer. I now have two sharing the same room and now older and i have managed to fit larger wadrobes tv each and play station and a chair each by buying a high bed and placing the smaller wardrobe undeneath for video games and storage............ Good Luck!

  4. I have just got plastic storage containers that can be stacked on top of one another for my sons room, but soon I will be getting a shelf made of boxes. They are cheap and come in different sizes and I will buy baskets to fit into some of the squares and leave the others open.
