Store Clerks required to tell police about underage smoking?

Question

Lets say I worked at a store.

And an underage teen wanted to buy some smokes.

But I realized they are underage.

Do I have to call the police or there parents or do I just repromand them?

If they try to buy them using a fake ID you can call the cops for that and keep the ID to give to the cops.  If they are only trying to buy them but don't have the ID then no you don't have to report it.  If you see them outside the store smoking however you are suppose to report it as it is illegal for minors to be smoking in most states now, but most wouldn't report it.

"your too young,and plus anyways this stuff will kill you"

&& dont give it to them

if they come back more then 3 times or if they threten you then call the police

nothing, just don't sell them.  it could be an undercover sting.  They happen a lot in stores.  All you are required to do is not sell them.  If they have an obvious fake ID keep it.  If they throw a stink tell them that you have to hand it over to the police and if they wanna hang around and try and get it back to be your guest.

Just refuse the sale. Also, sometimes cops send minors into the store looking to bust people for not checking I.D.s. This happened to someone I knew and not only did she lose her job but she had to pay many fines.

If you can remember them, report them.

If not, don't.

Make sure you ALWAYS ask for ID if you're ever unsure.

No, you just ask for ID and if they can't provide it you don't let them buy cigarettes.  How would calling the cops help anything?  The kids would run outta there long before a pig showed up, and they wouldn't know who they were dealing with.  And you really couldn't call the kids' parents if you didn't know who they were....

If you know that they ID they've given you is fake, that's the time to call the cops.  Don't give the ID back to them.

Just say no. You don't have to report it and I would not recommend reprimanding them. It isn't your business.

ALWAYS check for I.D.

If you ever got caught you would fired in a second and fined for many different things. And if you tell the cops then I'm sure they will do this and your employeer will fire you.
