Store that sells decoration stuff?

Does anyone know of a store that sells patches and other stuff that may help decorate an old backpack in any of the following cities: Vancouver, BC; Anchorage, Alaska; or anywhere near pasadena/ arcadia/ west covina area of LA? THANKS! If anyone has any tips on how to redecorate an old red jansport backpack with a leather bottom. thanks!

If price is not an object then Michaels and Joanns are good but try looking in a phone book for surplus fabric stores, or remnant stores, places where they sell fabric by the lb.  We have something in AZ called SAS and these types of stores have all the fabric, trim, buttons, lace, patches, beads, jewels, and a number of other items that are incredibly inexpensive compared to the chain craft stores.   I haven't lived in Cali for years but there was an SAS on Hawthorne and Fabrics R us on Hacienda(heights) blvd


  2. In Pasadena -- Michael's on Colorado Bl., Joann's on Lake north of Colorado Bl.

    I like Aleene's Patch & Applique glue for gluing patches. There is also Aleene's Platinum Bond Super Fabric, but it's pretty nasty stuff.  = )

  3. Joannes or Michaels... they usually have a wide variety and the people are friendly and will give you tips/ideas
