Storm v Leeds?

Why is the NRL World cup challenge always played in England? How long has it been running and was it ever played in Australia?

because it is too one sided anyway . storm should win easilly if they field a full strength team . they play it over there and out of the australian season to give you guys a chance at winning. the truth is it will be the australians  playing in the super league that will shine anyway.

Its an on and off affair that i think has run from the late 80's

and i remember a game being played in Brisbane on of the seasons that Brisbane Broncos won in the late 90's.

Cuz they need all the advantages in there favoure 2 actually get a good game. If it was ova here they would get ripped 2 shreds by any 1 of our NRL teams. Funny enough England think they r gona smash the storm. Storm by 40pts

It has been running several years.  1976 was the first game and then from 1987 more regularly.  It was first played the week after the Aussie Grand Final and then January and February from 2000 on.  The English teams were only just starting their season and so always had the advantage because the Aussie team may have still be drunk from the Grand Final or didn't field their full team! English teams have won it mostly. More recently the 2 seasons have been parallel, except that the English season has now been going for 3 weeks and the Aussie season will not start for another 3 weeks, so another advantage to England.  It has been played twice in Aust and once in NZ.  See page below for details. I don't like Melbourne, but i hope they win!

not sure why its always in the UK, i think there was a game in Australia years ago but I'm glad its in England as much as i love the nrl have you ever watched the super league on foxtel the atmosphere is a million times better than if played at homebush in Sydney with only 4,000 in the stands
