Stormers head coach Allister Coetzee shuffles backs for last-round match against Cheetahs: Rugby news
South African conference leaders for the 2011 Super Rugby championship, Stormers, have made changes to their backs pack for their last game of their round matches of the Super XV. Stormers head coach, Allister Coetzee, confirmed
the changes while announcing his team for their Saturday, June 18 clash against the Cheetahs at Vodacom Park, Bloemfontein.
Stormers currently are placed in second position in the combined super xv table with 58 points coming from their 15 matches of the season. Stormers will be eyeing a bonus point win over the Cheetahs to secure a home ground play-offs
game.
Coetzee has named Stormers star fly half Peter Grant at the fly half position. Grant is the Stormers top scorer in the tournament. He has so far scored 113 points in the 2011 Super Rugby championship that includes 10 conversions
and 31 penalties.
Dewaldt Duvenage and Grant will be the starting halfback pair for the Stormers for Saturday’s clash. Scrum half Duvenage has replaced the injured Ricky Januarie in the starting xv. Januarie sustained an injury to his right hand
in their last game against the Bulls, at Cape Town on Saturday, June 11.
Gio Aplan played as winger against the Bulls has been moved to the full back position. Juan de Jongh has been moved to centre in place of the Jean de Villiers who will play as winger in the Saturday’s clash.
Tiaan Liebenberg has been moved from the bench, to take the field in the starting xv as the hooker. Marius Jonker from South Africa has been announced as the on field referee for the match and he will be assisted by Pro Legoete and Stefan Breytenbach.
