I have a male cousin who is 17 years old, and he's so immature. I can't stand it. Everything he does bothers everyone. When i was his age, i remember doing nothing what he does now. I was more mature than he was when i was his age. You think it's true?

  1. Most likely since g*y men tend to act more feminine, and females tend to be more mature than males. But hey, don't get mad at your cousin for being a straight guy, plus he's still a teenager, so let him be a teenager. I'm a chick and I still do some pretty immature stuff from time to time. But, I'm sure he'll grow out of it eventually.

  2. I hate when g*y people try to stereotype others. We don't want to be stereotyped or judged. So, why should we do the same?

It doesn't matter if you are straight or g*y with maturity, lol. The people mature. Sexual orientation has no basis.

  3. I think this specific case of you being more mature than him is true... I don't think sexuality has any bearing on th matter whatsoever, though.

  4. I think it's the person themselves that make up how mature or immature they are and not their sexual preference.

  5. I think it has more to do more w/ socialization & social expectations than actual mature. Straight guys are expected to behave in a certain way and it limits their ability to act in a way that others deem mature. For example, guys are taught not to cry or express their feelings. Therefore they use more destuctive means to cope, that one might deem less mature. Also, guys are socialized to reject the values of academic responsibility, personal safety, etc....and are more vulnerable to peer pressure to prove their masculinity. g*y guys have no need to conform to masculine ideals, because they pick up their values from their female friends. Girls have a lot more social flexibility, because their feminity isnt challenged by the positive choices that they make. Straight guys are often socially penalized for acting maturely. I see don't blame the guys, blame the "values" of our society that lay out the social rules for each s*x.

  6. Not sure about that, i'm 32 and i still behave like a 12 year old and i'm g*y...seriously ! I still enjoy prank calls, skateboarding and throwing water baloons off my balcony, yet i have a very technical job and can be serious when i have to... Depends on what you mean with 'mature'...some people may have a different view on it.

    :)

  7. i agree with q****s inc...u can't make genenalizations like that.

i know sum g*y men who r really immature(and the fact that theyre biphobic only further proves it their immaturity)

  8. Absolutely. I agree with you 100%!

  9. yes i agree. i do see a difference between maturity between straight guys and g*y guys, but not all the time.

  10. I agree.

  11. Sorta, but I think thats cause us g*y men HAVE to mature faster due to the reaction of people to us.  :@)
