  1. use the ones that are made especially for straightened hair.

i haven't used mane and tail, but i hear its good.

  2. i have been straightening my hair for a long time now, so i know what good products to use, right before you straighten your hair you need to protect it, i use Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray, its no more than 5 dollars, i got it a Target but I'm sure you can find it at any drugstore. For shampoo and conditioner i use Pantene Thick And Full, leave the conditioner in for about 5min and put a little extra on your ends. i hope i helped you out :)

  3. use shampoo that's for damaged ahir so u can be ahead of the problem that may come up in the future. and use thermal protectors as much as possible i love the one by tressme, and heat style ur hair a little as possible there are ways to put ur hair so it stays straighter... and remember moisturized hair frizzes less because it isn't tryin to absorb moisture in the atmosphere... and good luck to u

  4. Alright well, go to your local shoppers drug mart and go into the shampoo ile Alright theres a couple products you could get either, herbal essences pin straight shampoo and conditioner, this helps straighten your hair, theres also shampoos not by herbal essences that you can buy that are for damaged hair and hair that uses alot of heat, you just got to read the bottles. Again back to herbal essences, theres a pin straight mousse and hairspray, one will work very well, and it will keep your hair straighter with no fly aways. While your straightening make sure you hair is absolutely dry. if you blow dry before you straighten then blow from the roots down and do this till your hair is dry. Then straighten. dont hold it on a piece of hair for too long or you will burn it. pick about 2 inches of hair up at a time and straighten. start as close to your scalp as you can without burning skin and slowly pull down the straightener right to the tip, sometimes if your natural hair has a flip to the bottom you might want to hold the straightener at the ends for a couple seconds. NOT TO LONG. do this all around your head, spray with a little hair spray, not alot, never alot, like one little spritz. and thats basically it. remember to unplug when you done and be careful while doin it cuz its super hot!. ALSO....make sure you get all of your hair because it will look super funny only half done or parts done. and you can go over your hair as many times as you need to with the straightner to get the desired straight look you want. when you have run the straightener over your hair you hair will be hot so its also good tip to use a comb and catch your hair with your comb instead of the fingers. for pinstraight hair, run your fingers through your hair that your about to straighten just like you would if you were trying to get a knot out, when your at the bottom of your hair pull on it slightly straight down as you use the straightener with the other hand. other then that theres nothing else really to say.

  5. First off you need to know what type of hair you have-thick/fine/curly. I have thick hair which tends to need a higher heat setting to straighten all the way through. If you have thin/fine hair make sure the heat setting isn't too hot to damage your hair-look on the package, it should say.  Also make sure you get a CERAMIC plates straightener-these are the best!

It is easiest to put your hair in sections(1-5 inches) start from the bottom layers and work your way up -have rest held by clip(s)-then apply a heat protectant to your hair and straighten. Also once finished overall I apply a de-frizz serum.

As far as products go-there are so many available for all budgets. Sun-Silk is a good one-reasonable and offer shampoo and conditioner to start help straightening hair when washing and finish off with their straightening serum before straightening. Pantene, Tresseme, TIGI, etc. are all good and offer shampoo/conditioner/serums. Maine and Tail is good-but it helps with shine.

Keep in mind your hair can still get damaged so it is nice to have a repairing shampoo/conditioner laying around. You just need to go in a hair products aisle and it will be like Christmas! Have Fun!
