  1. how would you do this put your hair against a wall then iron away lol maby cause some people think it works a diffrent way like their two diffrent things not both just irons and dangerous lol

  2. i used to do that back in the day ... my mom would do it for me i could never imagine doing it on my own.  i'm not really sure of what the downside is ... i'm sure it could be damaging to your hair just like a regular straightener.

  3. So amazingly i just watched an infomercial about a hair straightener for thick hair that regular ones don't work on. Its called the Instyler i think. It looked pretty amazing and it actually helps your hair not get dried out! I would say to google the instyler and look into one because I'm sure that is damaging your hair. I hope i helped. Here is the actual website!

  4. A hair straightener WILL work if you find one a little more expensive with

a higher heat temperature, like a CHI, or another flat iron with about 400 degrees F+. A $20-80 dollar flat-iron is what you probably have that "doesn't work", because those are for people with wavy/straight/thin hair.

You are really ruining your hair by using a clothing iron, get a real hair straightener and get some flat-iron spray, too.

  5. clothing irons get really hot and can obviously be dangerous. Be careful when using and it remember to always use a heat protect ant spray so you don't fry your hair.

  6. Because it dries out your hair way more than a regular straightener does.

  7. i dont think it matters because straightening your hair is pretty much like ironing your hair.

  8. didnt u melt ur hair yet? be very carful!!!!

  9. its too much stres on your hari.. all of the heat at one time, and at such at alarming rate, realllllly burns the life out of it.thats why no one uses it.. and its realllly hard, and annoyign to do all the time.. why waist like an hour when you can waist a hafe you know.. my hair is monsterous and i mean it its really bad and i still use a straightener(chi) and it wrks wonders on my hair.. but dont get chi, i regret it, it doesnt really work that good, and its too expensive, it though it would straighten my hair in a second but it takes years.! try getting a vidal sasson its sooo good, and its soo cheap! atleast 15-20 bucks.. adn to make your hair looking really good, put some anti-frizz stuff in it, mabye the company pantene pro v ;)

  10. its not good - the straightners have protection as in its meant for the hair - the iron has no protection and stuff

plus it might be fine now but because of the heat and the iron on the iron it will start to fall

while a straightner might take a long time for you to do your hair its still healtheir

  11. Using a clothes iron to straighten your hair may cause more damage than doing so with a regular straightener.....that's why they have certain straighteners like tourmaline ceramic that can be beneficial to your hair. Plus using an iron would dry it out...

  12. Is this a joke or what?? Are you mad, I mean if u wanna burn ur cheeks etc. Hon be careful plxxx

  13. I think the best thing for you to do would be to invest in some good hair straighteners, which are usually the more expensive ones unfortunately. Look to spending as much as you can afford for a better quality product with a longer working life and a quicker heat-up time. Ones that work to 220degrees are the best sort in my opinion and I also have thick hair.

Something else that helped me was to have my hair thinned out [with added layers] at the salon. This needn't be expensive but if done regulary will keep the thickness of your hair in control.

I would avoid using a household iron purely for the reason that they are not designed to straighten hair. Their product description is purely for pressing the creases out of clothes. Many women used irons in the 70s for this purpose but you run the risk of seriously damaging your hair doing this as there is no heat control [in hair straighteners, you can adjust this and they are coated with a special metal to work to protect, not frazzle, hair].

Of course, thick hair always looks fabulous wavy in healthy condition. Invest in a good conditioner and keep your hair this way sometimes for a change of look :]

  14. oh my! you may accidentally iron your skull one day. please be careful.
